On the GIS front: get water surface temps from Landsat (remote sensing) products using Python script that converts gps to row/path required by USGS & returns rasters like the ones below. Not too exciting but small gis gigs are quick and easy $$.

Took a gamble and chose MongoDB Stitch back-end as a service for a new project over AWS Lambda. I’m impressed. Everything felt intuitive, and I was rolling out services within minutes. As a bonus, there is less infrastructure and so less to maintain. If you're going NoSQL, I suggest giving MongoDB Stitch a try.

Working on a crypto block-time technical analysis app. I never liked crypto lol, but im seeing lots of opportunities to make money off people who are into it. I like a central bank personally.

Setting up a spot fleet on ec2 and I can’t believe I’ve never done it before. Its a game changer. Simply by setting a load balancer and auto scaling and a launch config, ami, and an alarm i can save 80% on server costs. Slick.
